The new Samsung Instinct is very much similar to the iPhone in terms of design but stands apart from it with unique touch screen interfaces. It is different from the iPhone because it has a visual voice mail, integrated GPS, email support, and 3G compatibility.

What Apple has missed out, Samsung has heeded with the inclusion of multimedia messaging, voice recording and voice dialing. But not everything nice can be said about the Samsung Instinct because its camera is not at part with the best. It did not even offer the basic editing features that most camera phones have. The browser of the Instinct is also slow and hard to comprehend.

The Instinct has all Samsung has in common and that is crisp text and vibrant display. Although having a smaller screen compared to iPhone, the quality of its display stayed the same. The phone’s user interface is easy and attractive.

Full GPS accessibility is what makes Samsung Instinct better than its counterparts. Plus all the other features like the presence of MP3 player and mobile TV; you will surely get what you pay for a Instinct. Even with this functionality, the phone can last up to six hours on a fully-charged battery. Nothing but great can be said about the call quality because the Instinct is first a phone before anything else.

The all new Samsung U900 is here to capture all the mobile lovers’ eyes with its sleek look and cool features. The number of people looking forward for the features in a mobile phone has gone up in the last few years, and Samsung Flipshot-U900 gives it all in one phone. The Samsung FlipShot-U900 is the successor of Samsung-A990, a mobile phone with a 3 mega pixel auto focus camera. It has a swiveling QVGA display. Samsung FlipShot-U900 is also a swiveling phone.

Samsung FlipShot-U900 is of the type CDMA dual band (800/1900 MHz). As the successor of Samsung-A990, this phone also has a high resolution swiveling QVGA display. The main display is 240×320 pixels.

Overall
The phone is actually a beautiful creation from Samsung that is actually worth the money that is paid for it. There are just a few cons, but otherwise, the phone is a steal.

The Phone that Thinks it’s a Trainer

According to company spokesman Noriaki Tobita, a prototype Wellness mobile phone from Japan’s NTT DoCoMo Inc. gives people a hassle-free way of keeping track of their health. It can take your pulse, check your body fat, time your jogs, assess your stress levels, tell you if you have bad breath, and even give you a pep talk. (After being told to exercise, that I’m stressed, and that I have bad breath, I’m going to need more than a pep talk, but thanks anyway.)

Kidding aside, this sounds sweet. The phone was unveiled this week at the CEATEC electronics show outside Tokyo. It has an inbuilt motion sensor that detects body movement, so it can calculate how many calories you’re burning.

The sensor can tell whether you’re walking, running, climbing stairs, or resting, and counts the calories accordingly to tally daily totals, Tobita said.

“It’s with you wherever you go, like a portable personal trainer,” he said.

Like Nike Inc.’s +Nike technology, the handset also keeps track of jogs, letting users set targets and keeping track of time, distance, and calories burnt — all while listening to music through headphones.

Hold the phone with outstretched arms, and it turns into a mini body fat calculator. A sensor at the top of the phone takes your pulse from your fingertip.

Worried about bad breath? Use the phone’s breathalyzer. After Tobita blew on a tiny hole on the side of the handset for about three seconds, the screen flashed, “Not too bad.”

The Wellness phone, developed by NTT DoCoMo and Mitsubishi Electric Corp., also asks questions to assesses stress levels and offers advice.

When the busy spokesman answered “Yes” to a series of questions — including “Do you feel lethargic?” and “Do you go to bed after midnight?” — a message appeared on the screen warning he was under a lot of stress.

“Don’t worry, tomorrow’s a fresh new day,” the phone then flashed. “Keep your chin up!”

NTT DoCoMo is still testing some of the phone’s other technology, including a function to keep track of meals and calculate calorific intake, as well as a networking capacity to let users share data, Tobita said.

Japan has some of the world’s most advanced cell phones, enabling users to surf the Web, check in at airports and play motion games.

DoCoMo has not set a release date or price for the Wellness phone. The Tokyo-based company’s phones are not sold overseas.
