Nokia N80 - Just another N-Series phone…or is it?

One of the most anticipated and over-hyped phone, Nokia N80 falls quite short of expectations for many. Theoretically, the phone’s anatomy has been engineered to almost perfection, but when it’s handed over to its users, this phone won’t really be classified as ‘the prized possession’. That is, if the user is not a typical user.

Nokia N80 has an innovative exterior, with a classy slide-up design. This makes the smartphone compact and attractive. But despite this effort, Nokia N80 fails to compete with ‘the lords in the game’ - Samsung. The slide-up mechanism of Nokia N80 is not as smooth and good as that of Samsung. Also, the slide opens by itself many a times, which might lead into automatic dialling. The only resort thus, becomes the manual keypad lock.

One of the lightest smartphones available - weighs around 134g - Nokia N80 has successfully carved a niche in the genre of light smartphones. Being a 3G smartphone, it takes good care of personal and business requirements. The phone offers a wide array of multiple softwares, excellent functionality and good connectivity. It also has a wireless LAN, enabling fast connection to a PC, broadband internet and other Wi-Fi devices. But the blot here is its slow pace, both in boot up and in operation.

It has a superior LCD display and video quality. But despite having a 3 Megapixels camera, it cannot compete with Nokia N90 and Sony Ericsson W900i (both having 2 Megapixels camera). And if music runs through your blood, this phone is a celebration for you. It comes with an advance music player, great audio quality, stereo handset and a great storage capacity.

Concept wise Nokia N80 is par excellence and we just hope that the firmware upgrades will make it more reliable and user-friendly.

Nokia 5200: Adding Fun to Mobility

The Nokia 5200 is a slider phone with all round performance. Though not positioned as a music phone like the similar looking Nokia 5300, this device too features a decent media player. The Nokia 5200 is available in two colour solutions - flaming red or icy blue. The extensive use of white gives the Nokia 5200 a young and fashionable look. The spring assisted slide mechanism used is like the Nokia 6111.

The five-way navigation key and the TFT display that delivers more than 262 colours occupy the front of the device. The smooth slide action reveals the well differentiated keypad which are tactile and comfortable to use. Dedicated camera and radio keys as well as volume keys that doubles up as zoom when the camera is activated makes the Nokia 5200 very easy to operate.

The integrated VGA camera of the Nokia 5200 has relatively poor resolution (0.3 megapixel) when compared to ‘normal’ 2.0 megapixel cameras common in today’s market, but it does its job well. The camera includes digital zoom and changeable white balance as well as fun effects and frames. You can also shoot videos in 15 frames per second.

The music capabilities of the Nokia 5200 is almost equivalent to Xpress Music phones. The media player plays all popular media format including MP3, AAC, AAC+ and AAC enhanced. The 5 Mb built in memory is good enough only to carry a few ringtones however, there is an expandable memory slot to carry your music and video files. The Nokia 5200 also features a stereo FM radio so that you can tune in to your favourite station.

The Nokia 5200 gives you Internet connectivity on the go through GPRS other than triband GSM network support. The device is equipped with HSCSD/CSD for faster data transfer within a network. Bluetooth wireless technology, USB mass storage and Infrared connectivity lets you connect the Nokia 5200 with any compatible external device for synchronization and information exchange.

Coby Electronic 7 Inch Portable DVD Player

The Tech Geek has the
Coby Electronic 7 Inch Portable DVD Player

for about $40- $50 less than everyone else I’ve seen. At $144.99, it’s a pretty darned good deal - the only way it’d get any sweeter would be if they threw in a collection of Keira Knightley movies.

Don’t quite see them doing that, so I”ll just take my little dvd player and be on my way.

Check out their website by clicking the link above….or the button below, if you’d rather…….you’ll find that they have what the others have, they just want less to part with it. That puts them right up there with Keira in my book…..

….Okay, it puts them up there close to Keira.

You have to check out the vivid new colors of these iPod Shuffles. There are 5 brilliant colors in all and they’re each under $80. This, of course, means they’d make the PERFECT Valentine’s Day gift. Can you just imagine your special someone opening a box expecting chocolates and finding a bright orange iPod Shuffle instead.

You might would be faced with the best sex of your life. If you think you could handle it, by all means look further into these colorful works of art.

Click the link at the top of the post for a closer look at these little aphrodisiacs. Then, let your creative side take over. Buy a large box of chocolates, eat all the candy and place one of these guys inside the box. Close and present to the love of your life.

Or, better still, put the candy in a special little bag or box to give after they’ve opened the iPod shuffle. Once a brain thinks it’s getting chocolate and it’s informed that there isn’t any, it starts thinking of ways to exact revenge.

Not that I’m speaking from experience or anything…..
