Wow.

A couple in Blue Springs, Missouri was having a fight about a cell phone. The girlfriend, wanting to make the mother of all points, swallowed the cell phone. The guy later calls the police because she’s having trouble breathing.

The detective said, “He wanted the phone and she wouldn’t give it to him, so she attempted to swallow it. She just put the entire phone in her mouth so he couldn’t get it.”

There aren’t any details about how she’s doing, but I certainly hope she’s okay.

It all makes me wonder a few things: How small must that phone have been, how large must her mouth have been, and why in the hell did he call the police and not the ambulance. Memo to my spouse: If I’m ever having trouble breathing (I guarantee it won’t be from swallowing a cell phone)…call an ambulance, not the police. I’ll want to be assisted, not arrested.

It also makes me wonder how it would have felt if it rang. I don’t think I’ll ponder that one too long, I might pass out.
